To be a great coach you need to become a great salesperson. The better you are at selling your message the better it will be received which makes you a better coach. Have you ever had a situation where you have a solution for your client’s problem but for some reason they just won’t buy into the new method you are recommending. By not buying in they never see the desired change? The problem wasn’t your new method. The problem was the delivery of the concept. As long as you whole heartedly believe in what you are selling, you should sell the shit out of it! Not for profit (unless that is your primary goal) but because you know it will fulfill a need for that person. Improve your message delivery and you will improve your ability to coach.
